This is the 2019 Open Water Calendar, the March edition, there will be more as the organisers open the events for entries, and confirm start times etc. some events are just a date for now, with more details to follow. I’ll publish another edition in April (around Easter) with any updated info I get. Any links that are live are included in the below PDF, just click on the Pre Entry Link to sign up.
One important thing to note, most events have a max capacity for entries, so if you think you want to swim an event, enter it, write it in your diary, and if you can’t make it closer to time, please email the organiser to say you are not swimming, in case they are holding a wait list and your spot can be used.
Please do not pester organisers if an event is full and you didn’t enter, ask if there is a wait list, that’s probably the best that can be offered. So remember, enter, if you think you want to swim it.
After that rant!, if you are at a loose end over a weekend and there is a swim on, please send an email and offer to help, there are so many hands needed to pull these events off, to make them look slick and organised. Check in, counters in and out, kayakers, boat personal, drivers, bag drop, all these positions need to be manned, please try to offer to help at at least one event during the summer, there are over 25 on the calendar.
