Steve Redmond is off again, hoping to cross off the fifth swim on his Ocean’s Seven list: the Cook Strait. The Cook Strait is the body of water that separates New Zealand’s North and South Islands. The 16-mile swim is known for its strong tidal flows and abundance of sea life (about 1 in 6 swimmers encounter sharks on their crossing!).
Steve is currently in Wellington waiting for a weather window for his swim. You can follow his progress on his Facebook page here. Best of luck from all of us at Sandycove Steve 🙂
