The start of the swim was beautiful…pity that didn’t last long!
Congratulations to Owen O’Keefe, who swam around Sherkin Island today, beginning and finishing in Baltimore, in a time of 3 hours, 58 minutes and 58 seconds. It was a tough swim, with big swells along the outside of the island and lots of chop everywhere else! He did a great job of swimming through less than ideal conditions. Well done Owen.
Along the western side of the island, plenty of chop
A big thank-you to John Kearney and Conor from Baltimore Diving Centre for doing a great job of piloting for the swim. And thanks to Owen for my lovely wind-burn!
