Friday night, 27th May, wind blowing, plenty of rain outside … who would have thought that we’d be so lucky to get flat calm conditions for the swim on Sat… barely a ripple!
Many thanks to all those who participated!! We had a turn out of approx 70 swimmers, a great turn out what with clashing triathlon and rugby events!
The race started shortly after 3 pm and I had to leg it over (in the car!) to Glandore pier to join Lisa Cummins, timekeeper extraordinaire, on the other side JUST before the winner got in. Carol (Cashell), well done girl! 14 m 59 seconds!!
All swam in safely and recovered up in the Glandore Inn with food and beverage(s).
We raised appox €400 for the RNLI – again, thank you everyone.
Thank you to the boat support and Lisa for timekeeping!
Results will be uploaded in the next few days … here are a few photos to remind you of the day 🙂
And a big thank-you to Liz for organising such a great opening event for our open water season (as always)!
