Many of the swimmers woke up to frosted cars on Sunday morning but it didn’t stop the stalwarts from coming to Sandycove for 12 noon.

We had a total of 11 swimmers: Mike O’Hare, Craig Morrison, Rob Bohane, Steven Black, Sevi Mc, David Merriman, Denis Sheehan, Dave Mulcahy, Sarah Louise McSweeney, Padraig McGuire and Hew.

It was a beautiful morning – clear skies and frostbite – the swimmers organised themselves into 2 groups , one group of 6 to go around the island and 5 on the inside. It was a sprightly swim, temp in around 9 degrees … maybe even colder… all came back with smiles on their faces and a very distinctive glow!!

Tea and biscuits (thank you Moira & David!) were enjoyed by everyone afterwards in the sunshine. Another great day out!

Due to popular demand we are going to run a few extra Turkey swims in Loch Ine, starting next Sunday, the 21st Nov, 12 noon.

We will also be back to Sandycove, Sunday 28th Nov, at the earlier time of 10.30 am(governed by tides).
